| Marmaduke Farris was the second of six children of Moses Miles Farris and Carrie Blanton Farris. Duke was born June 26, 1909, and died July 5, 1986. |

Duke married Pearl, and they lived in Morganton. N.C. They had six children, George, Doris, Irene, Ray, Nancy and David.
